Important information

Policies at Ann Therapy

Information about confidentiality, appointments, payment, and the therapeutic process so you can take an active role in your care.

Maintaining confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship at Ann Therapy. Information shared during sessions is kept private and will not ordinarily be disclosed to others without your consent, except where disclosure may be necessary to protect safety or is required by law.

There are some circumstances in which a therapist may need to consider sharing limited information, for example when:

  • there is reason to believe that a child is being abused or is at risk of abuse, violence, exploitation, or neglect;
  • there is a serious and immediate risk to your safety or the safety of another person; or
  • disclosure is required by a competent authority in accordance with applicable law.

Whenever reasonably possible, your therapist will discuss with you in advance why information may need to be shared, with whom, and what information is necessary.

Even where confidentiality must be limited for safety or legal reasons, Ann Therapy aims to disclose only the information reasonably necessary for that purpose.

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please notify our office as early as possible, normally at least 24 hours in advance.

Late cancellations or changes may incur a holding fee as described in your therapy agreement. An appointment is considered unsuccessful when it is cancelled less than one hour before the session, or when the client arrives 30 minutes or more late and the session can no longer be conducted effectively.

We understand that unexpected and urgent situations sometimes occur. In those circumstances, We will make every effort to arrange another appointment for the client and therapist as soon as possible.

The session fee is due at the time the service is provided. To support better preparation, clients may also pay before the appointment. We will send an appointment confirmation after receiving payment notification.

Our support team is available from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday through Saturday.

If you contact us outside office hours, please leave a message. Our team will respond during the next available office hours.

Ann Therapy does not provide emergency or crisis support and cannot guarantee an immediate appointment when an urgent need arises. If you need urgent support, please refer to the guidance on our “When You Need Urgent Support” page.

We encourages clients and therapists to meet in person at our office. However, online sessions may be offered according to each client’s needs and circumstances.

Your therapist may request periodic reviews to ensure that online therapy remains suitable and effective for your therapeutic process.

You have the right to end counselling or therapy with your therapist at any time. We respect this decision regardless of the reason and ask that you notify us so the process can be concluded smoothly.

We also reserves the right to end the therapeutic process, with notice by email, in the following circumstances:

  • There is a perceived risk or threat from the client.
  • The client has not completed payment for multiple sessions.
  • The client has not contacted us about a subsequent appointment for more than one month.
